Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, Recognized For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.

Stateside actor Finn, who appeared in iconic television series including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.

The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles, California this Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, according to media reports.

"He saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a statement.

They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive TV Career

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He starred as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous well-known programs, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

He was most recognized for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies encompass It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".

Off-Screen Life

Away from his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was involved with a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he shared online.

The actor is remembered by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
