The Streaming Giant Selects Perfect Actor for Mr. 2 in One Piece Third Season
Baroque Works is poised to exert significant influence in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t take place until the third season, and a beloved, popular member has recently been selected.
The platform declared this week that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Bon Clay. This character possesses the power to morph into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their dominant hand. The performer, who is non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a version of that role re-envisioned as non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action series, as in the source material and anime.
This performer is joined by several other new cast members tasked with bringing Baroque Works to reality, including leader Mr. 0, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as another operative, and an accomplished actor, who will appear as the lineup as the monarch of the desert kingdom.
Although this character is a major member of the organization, the character will be introduced in One Piece the upcoming installment. With the next season set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this represents a major departure in the schedule of their first appearance, one that could signal further changes to the plot development.
Their mix of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the role. Along with their latest vocal work in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is due to premiere for its season two on March 10, 2026.
